Bloody hell - he's almost gushing in his praise!
The most interesting thing there though, is the one-off, motor wind
version.

I suspect that set-up is a fake, mainly because it uses a Spotmatic Motor Drive
bottom plate rather than the KM/KX Motor Drive bottom plate. On the KX/KM the
bottom plate has a bevel on it and the words "MOTOR DRIVE" are on the back,
while the Spotmatic plate has flat sides and MOTOR DRIVE engra

Kennyboy shoots himself in the foot. The meter will drain it's
batteries in no time flat if you don't have a lens cap, and since he

The saddest thing about the Kennyboy phenomenon is the dolts who believe
him because they're to flappin' lazy to use Google.

His "compared to" section is a little silly. The cameras that he
should be comparing it to are it's contemporary cameras with the same
basic feature set, like the Olympus OM-1 and the Canon TX. No battery
required to fire the shutter on either of those two either. (Probably
others also, that I'm no

Hello Larry, I used to own the K1000 SE with the Kit lens in the '70s.
Must say an awesome camera. Simple to use too.
Yes, w/o the lens cap there is a battery drain. But it is
infinitesimal. And Silver Oxide cells were so cheap and available
every where. Even today I can buy a pack of 100 Chinese G

Suppose you are a true neophyte. How are you supposed to know that
Kenny isn't as serious a pundit as anyone else?

If you put your K1000, in a dark place, say a camera bag, between uses,
even if you haven't put a lens cap on it and the meter pretty much shuts
down. Leave it on a shelf in a fairly bright place and the meter won't
shut down. It will drain the battery pretty quickly.

ROTFL, I missed that. Although a true newbie would be relieved
because he couldn't find the AF controls anyway.
Like all other species, the apprentice idiots will flock to the alpha.
