John I went to Amazon and found 2-3 different shades for mine. I got one rubber

think the size is 49mm. Less than $10..

John,
Try anything you can screw into the front threads.
A 50mm shade may work ok because of the smaller sensor.
If you had a plastic 50mm, you might be able to cut it down.

They don't have one for the K10D but I'm hoping they will. I don't care
about the lens shade itself, although it's awfully cute, but I want the
LCD protection...

Does anybody have any experience with Delkin's lens shades for the DS
or the DL (http://www.delkin.com/products/popupshades/)?
I bought one for the DS and modified it for my D. I loved it, especially
after it kept working when one of the side panels snapped off (my fault).
Here's a pic of
Not for me. I frequently look at histograms. I don't want anything to get in

That's exactly what I discovered. Anybody want a free LCD shade for a
20D? :-)

Which 135 is it? It may already have one built in.
I don't think I've ever used a shade on a 50mm. Hmm.

I have an SMC 35mm f2 lens that I would like to get a lens hood for. I
have a rubber hood now. I think Pentax might have made a rectangular hood
for this lens. If true, does anybody have one just lying around collecting
dust?

There are two retangular hoods (not really square) from

I have noticed that the metal rectangular

not exactly the same sized rectangle and

has a collar that clamps to the outside of
the filter ring. This works just as well as

Jim,
I don't know what Pentax had as a dedicated hood for the SMCP
35/2.0, but the Takumar hood for the earlier 49mm threaded 35mm lens
will work perfectly with a step down ring. There will be no
vignetting even with a filter.
The Nikon HN-3 will also work quite well on this lens.
