The FM has the flip up tab (unless the aperture coupling ring was replaced), the FM2 does not. I had a pair of FMs, one custom modified with an E2 focusing screen, for a very long time and used plenty of pre-AI, unmodified lenses on them. Godfrey Not the FM, or FM2. I have owned both, neither

I also had an FM2, and had the coupling ring replaced with the earlier FM style one. Cost a little bit but was well worth it. The FM/FM2 series were my workhorse cameras for 20 years. They had a wonderful feel, excellent controls, and were incredibly rugged. The *istDS is the first digital SLR
