The cruise I was looking at starts and ends in Stockholm. Others go
from Amsterdam.
If we have a following wind eastbound, we should then have a head wind
westbound. Would that make it rougher? How are conditions in the

Years back, we took a ferry from Copenhagen to Oslo, and the crossing
weas very rough. How rough are the seas likely to be on a cruise ship

I don't have any idea about cruises, but I'd suggest that you should allow
at the very least 3-4 days in St.-P.
(You won't be bored if you can spend more, say, 1-2 weeks. It's like in Paris.)
Plan at least a day in Petergof (Peterhof), the summer residence of tzars.

questions than you can imagine. Baltic conditions, variations among lines,

My wife and I did a river cruise in Russia in 1998. We had three days
in Moscow, then a week on the rivers, canals and reservoirs, and
finally 3 days in St Petersburg, Since it was a group tour, we did
