I'd been using the full-tilt ver of Paint Shop pro for abt a year.
It replaced the FREE copy of ver 3.1 (that actually works just peachy)...
actually, BETTER that retail PSP because it readily takes you to the single
pixel level faster
I ran into not having enough effects & wanted to make spiffy
PhotoShop is rather intuitive on a Mac and can be learned quickly as one
works with it. I've never tried it on a PC. Also, there are numerous
plug-ins for PhotoShop that expand it's effects capabilities.

Gosh, I haven't used Photo Deluxe in a long time, but I think I remember
that it will save as a J-peg. However, you can't just do it as a "save
as." Poke around the menus and look for something like a file type.
Seems to me, there was a way of converting it to a jpeg.

must choose export, rather than save. Now why didn't I
