I know, the bikes in the background really distract from the hand in the
trap (it's a plastic hand, for you squeamish ones out there ). They (the
bikes) ~really~ pissed me off, after I noticed them.

bike in the background, at first I thought it was some wierd bike stand.

As a document for the protest, it doesn't work for me. Too many distracting elements,
a weak composition, and a lack of point of view.
I see at least two better photos in the scene.
However, from the POV of an interesting photo, it works for me. It's abstract enough

I like the photo, specially the relation between human
and plastic hands, a sort of visual ying yang. Maybe
you can burn the bikes a bit to darken them.
It's nice to see you are using a real lens, it's a
shame it isn't from a real brand ;-)
