Thank you, Michael!
The thing I like most about the shot is that it has made me a more
confident photographer. I'm not nearly as hesitant about approaching
potential subjects as I was before taking this one. In that sense, it's
opened up a new outlet for me -- which is a real benefit.

Thanks, Dave.
I was pretty pleased with the results, considering it was my first
attempt at photography of that type.
Of course, it doesn't hold a candle to Danny Santos's work, which I've
been smitten with since I first discovered it on one of those "funny and
interesting" type link aggr
Thanks, Steven.
There are some faces that just beg to be photographed. The contrast of
the girl's eyes, skin and hair was what grabbed my attention.

Thank you, Charles!
If I ever find out who the girl is, I'll have to let her know about all
the positive feedback I got from her photo.

You're right--it works better in B&W.

I think you did a fine job with it. I like the crop and the OOF person
to the right.
It works quite well

Thanks, Brian.
I toyed with the light a bit, but concluded that the falloff enhanced
the darkness of her hair and the contrast with her skin.
I don't think it would have worked with a blond or a redhead, but on
this particular girl, I thought it added to the shot.

Thank you, Daniel!
The place was crawling with conventionally "pretty" girls, but this one
just had one of those faces that screamed at me to capture it. The fact
that she was shy is communicated in her suppressed smile, which I really
liked. I'm horrible at judging ages, but I would guess
Many thanks, Frank.
I was tempted to crop out the OOF face, but decided that it somehow lent
a kind of dreamy feel that served as a complement to her face.

Hi all,
Went to a local BBQ festival yesterday and took some snapshots. I saw
this young lady standing in line at one of the booths and was thought
I'd try my hand at street portraiture along the lines of Danny Santos.
It's clearly not up to his standards, but I thought it wasn't too shabby
