Whilst it's definitely cleaner, I think the problem with this picture is
that the idea (the No Entry sign beside the door to God's house) isn't
supported by a suitably interesting visual image.
I should be inclined to re-shoot at a different time of day when the sun
does its magic. At

you're at it you could try straightening the
verticals, which may make the left-side crop a little
easier.

Scott, on my monitor I see no bright spots, only gray or dark
The composition is so-so. Maybe standing more to the front of the church
and eliminating some or all of the extraneous elements on the LH side of
the pic might help, although the addition of the street does add some to
the story, giving the church and sign more of a sense of place. The
