Thanks, gents.
Brian, I pass this fence 10 times a week, and have shot it dozens of times. I
think two pics have been worth posting.

I like old fences but never seem to be able to find an attractive
composition. You didn't have that problem.
Well done!

That is a very effective image. I like the texture on the fence and
the contrast between the dull colors of the fence and the bright
yellow of the forsythia.

Like it, Rick! Composition and exposure very well done.
Believe, however, I'd have to punch up the shadows a touch.

You can show the texture in the fence posts a little more by darkening
the highlights. I played with it a little and the result is here:

Nice texture, it needs a bit more contrast, maybe a different effective
B&W filter, it looks like the conversion was done with no filter. I

I like what you are doing with this but the mid tones seem overly
bright to me.

I do like it, Marnie, and I think the background compliments it.
Some of the left side posts are a bit hot on my monitor, which likely
masks some of the grain and texture detail.

The fence is interesting and very detailed (if a bit hot). But the
background is distracting. You could clone out the background by
replacing it with the vegetation directly behind the fence and on the
mountain. Lots of work required to get it right, however.

Good work though. I like old fences to.

It is nice to see the earlier shots compared to the current one. You
have improved. This last shot is much better than the first two
attempts last year. Much better angle - focus is better, composition
is better. Nice to see you haven't been idle.
