What exactly is that area in Z-1p and
MZ series have much worse viewfinders than your old bodies. The only
thing that changed for better over the years is focusing screen
brightness. Otherwise, the magnification is much lower, making manual
focus a pain compared to good old mf body. I think it's quite good to
install a newer focusing

No. With the lenses older than A the matrix metering turns to
c/w. However, the spot metering is available...
