Hi all. Looks like my last PESO/PAW for 2008, you hope.:-) Just looking for some comments on this shot. http://photo.net/photodb/photo?photo_id=8449562 The Markham Fair has a lot of categories, but the three that elude me the most are, Wood, Boats and Rural Landscapes, that latter seems ironic,

Thanks for the comments so far. I can see a more "summery" look might improve this. Keep in mind its winter here and the grass is dormant, much like me. Sounds like i have several worth while re do's in this latest rural series. I'll definitely look at redoing during other times of the year and we

This one doesn't quite do it for me. The issues I see are the background - too much in focus - too cluttered - draws my attention. Another is the general lighting is quite bright except for the shadowed log - but the contrast just doesn't work well. I'm thinking it is the direction of the shadow

Hi dave I agree with the other comments on this. The light is just a bit too washed out and the background structures are distracting. There's certainly potential in that old bit of fence post so maybe another time of day and a slightly different composition Cheers Brian
