Back in May, we had just arrived in Melbourne (off the vehicular ferry
from Tasmania) as dawn was breaking and Melbourne put on this brief, but

I just had time to pull over and grab this shot in (I think) Bay Street.
This red squirrel has been hanging out around my house the past few
months. He was up in the tree branches this morning so I grabbed the K3

As I said, Steve, I cropped it to get rid of other people and general
clutter. I don't specifically remember why I cropped it that close on

more there I could include without creating distractions.
I posted an earlier version of this Chinese woman with red hair taking

Thanks, Dan. The Grebe population is higher than I've seen it since moving down
here four or five years ago. Finding them isn't a problem; finding them in a
photographable situation is another thing altogether.
Thanks for your comment.

That is a strong and effective composition. I like the location and
shape of the twigs relative go he bird, the reflections in the water,
and the calm water on the right.

Well, you got a good pose on the dragon fly, and the color is really
interesting. I’ve never seen a red dragon fly, so you’ve schooled me, Jack!

I suppose, due to the accidental placement of the bug, I don't even abject that
much to the background.
All fit in to an acceptable arrangement of color blobs.

Nice view. I like how you placed the houses in the frame, and also the
