For my studio work and the few weddings I've got roped into doing, I use a
Metz 40 MZ-2 and 40MZ-3. At weddings and other big social events, I also
use a Stroboframe Pro-RL flash bracket, which gets the flash up nice and
high. It's also good for portraits and such when you're shooting

Thank you, guys, very much for answers, this brings at least vision of

So, it seems that AF500FTZ is the most popular, so does METZ. That's true,
good things are never cheap, but on the other hand this is kind of long
time investment. A good flash and other necessar

I have a Metz 40MZ3i used on Z-1p. Usually I point the flash to the white
ceiling for more natural results and this flash (TTL mode) has never failed
me (quite powerful). But I have found its odd shape with SCA3701 adaptor
does not fit in any of my camera bag well. AF500FTZ (or similar design l

That's a bit misleading. Quantum makes a cable for the Pentax
AF500FTZ that lets you power the flash from the Quantum Turbo
battery. Believe me, you could shoot a whole wedding and still
have flash power left over. The quantum Turbo isn't real cheap
but it's real good. Ask TV or Ken Archer if
i have use a vivitar 285hv with a quantum 1+ battery pack and a
strobeframe camera tilt braket on a pz1p. always worked great for me.

I have used my AF 500FTZ with PZ-1p for several weddings and found it to
work great. I don't know where you heard about using truckloads of
batteries. I have not found it to be any different than any other flash.
