I knew I was heading for a broken bone sometime soon but I wasn't
expecting to do so in such a silly way. To be honest it was nowhere
near as pain

Hmm, good idea. Maybe after the overseas holiday has been paid for.
But a new lens would have to come out of the new bike budget :))

I managed to put a chain saw though my phone line on Saturday so I'm only now
catching up with the list (yes, I knew the phone line was there.)
Sorry to hear about the fall, Dave. Hope recovery will be quicker than
anticipated. On the bright side, it did happen *after* your visit to Sydney

I saw the X-rays on Saturday but couldn't reply until today.
Ouch! That looks awful. It reaffirms my decision to be a runner.
You're too old for a lollipop. I think that deserves at least a new
prime lens.
Make the most of your couch time.

They checked me for a dislocated shoulder and from what I've heard I
am quite glad I didn't do that.

I understand that casts are pretty much a no-no these days except for bones
that
have a lot bending pressure on them. Interesting how much medical knowledge
turns out to be a fad that changes over time.

That's one reason I went to the medical centre instead of A&E which
has a bit if a reputation for keeping

A mix of shock and adrenaline, I suspect. Oh, and not knowing it was
broken. Ignorance = bliss.
I finally found my street map... I walked about 2.6km (1.6 miles)

I think so. kind of. It looks to me as if it broke through at an angle.

Nope, collar bones are usually treated

I was wearing one and after looking at it this morning, I discovered
that it's toast :( I think I'd have had a bit of a headache without it.

They have a nice digital machine but they'll do a printout on film if
you ask. Only cost about NZ$6.00 so I thought what the heck.

I'll save that
Ouch. Bad luck Dave, I hope it heals clean & fast.
Given all your recent injuries I think it's time you took up something
that's safer/requires less coordination.
Cheers,
Dave

Sorry to hear that. I've been in your shoes. Just take it easy and

um, 1978 ... early June ... new Ducati 860GT ... pissed off at my

stop sign came up fast ... hit front brake on sandy stuff ... it spit

Dave,
Sorry to hear about this.
The break looks serious. Is that circle the bone on end?
(Do they put a pin in for alignment?)
Sleeping on the couch with pillows is always good.
Keep us posted on your recovery.

shoot, I don't know anything about bones, but it looks like a 'clean'
break, or at least I don't see bone fragments everywhere. Sorry to
hear about your fall! I sure hope you get well soon. I'm glad you
got through the medical center quickly. I hate after-hours
emergencies - last time I had one
Dave, just heal quickly, will you please?

The X-ray sheet was too big for my scanner as it obscured the
calibration area. I wasn't willing to cut it up, so I put it on my
light box and set up the K10D on a tripod.
