for the best.
I think it has improved my "tough light" photos like back light and
sunsets/rises. I can see what works right away, instead of waiting for
the film and saying, "Oh crap"

Steve,
Digital has not improved my skill. However it has improved my results.
>From 2000-2003 I took about 100 rolls of film each year. Then I went digital.
In 2004 I made about 3500 shots, so I didn't change my habits one bit
the first year.
2005 and 2006 saw a slight increase, probably towards 4

Hi!
Steve, I just recently looked through my film photos, notably those that
I've taken with 6x6 folder camera. My initial reaction was that now I am
considerably weaker photographer than I was before. But then I reconsidered.
So, my answer is "yes and no".
;-).

A 35mm lens presents your traditional normal FoV.

seems to me that with the instant feedback that digital provides
when you make changes, especially in lighting, and particularly
flash lighting, there is NO WAY using digital cannot improve your
photographic skills. You get way more feedback, just like HENDRIX.

Addressing the question in the subject line first:
I had to think about that a bit, but then decided that yes, digital
photography has improved my skills, just not in a direction I would
have chosen.
Specifically, it has improved my ability to work with a point-and-shoot
camera, and more specific

If you can find an FA 35/2, it is a very nice normal lens on Pentax DSLR. The

Steve,
For myself, I would say yes, digital has improved my skills - the
results I get are better!
I watched the pdml as digital became available, and the posted
pictures got better.
People were learning faster because of the instant feedback.
It convinced me to buy a *istDS and I've not looked ba

I'm taking many more pictures, but, generally, in a more casual manner. The
K10D's handling of a variety of lighting situations is continuously intriguing.
Experience with the technology has a positive effect on the end product, but,
obviously, may only be so as it relates to my eye.

Hi Steve,
I own a K20d for just about one month, but I feel that I wasted a lot of
time in the learning curve of photography while in film. The ability of
checking what you have done and if it was the picture you saw before you
took the shot, did improve my photo results in the way I always wanted
I do, (though some would say the results are still lousy), but what you
do is up to you.

Digital requires discipline. Just apply the same level of thought and
planning that you would when shooting film. Sometimes I pretend I'm
shooting with the 6x7 and have only ten exposures to work with. It's
all a matter of mindset. If you achieve that mental discipline,
digital will prove t
