For what it is worth, Popular photography has got the following lab
test results for the MZ-S viewfinder:
Magnification: 0,77x (PZ1P 0,86x)
Coverage: 93,3% (PZ1P 86,9%)
Both MZ-S values are better as specified.
As the question goes, I'd buy new MZ-S body. What the heck, I just
did. :) So my

Doesn't the Optio allow you to do spot autofocusing

The body I can afford today, if I chose to spend the money ... ZX-5n

I can't imagine why I'd ~have~ to buy a Pentax body, but, if for some
reason I did, I'd opt for another new LX. If I could not get that, I'd
buy another Leica. However, I must admit to some curiosity wrt the
MZ-S.

For me, it would be a tough call between a 67II and a 645n. If I could
still buy an old-style 67, I'd take the 67.

Consider my eyesight is not as well as I used to, I'd go for an AF body. I
like the Z-1p, but hate its plastic eyepiece so I would choose MZ-S instead.
Yes, I think 0.75X viewfinder is
I'd like to get the Pentax LX 2000 edition! A brand new LX with the

Sigh, I guess I just like simple, old-fashioned, durable cameras with

Shel doesn't need a meter. He calls the exposures as he walks, and is

That, or he had a meter hidden in his M3.

Er... you mean the *meter* would be a half stop off, no doubt fooled by
its colour sensitivity. :)

Hi Shel,
Speaking of quiet mirror, when the debacle was on about vibration, I
checked some of my bodies, any of my 3 Spotmatics were quieter that the Ks
except a P50. The others were K2, K1000, ME, Super MX and LX. And the film
advance The Spotmatic is silky compared to the rest.

That sounds appealing. In black, of course, and built in the tradition
of the early Pentaxes ... no plastic, lots of nice gears to advance the

You know, Cosina has done a great job

Actually, the Sun fluctuates in nervousness when it sees Shel with a

Well...from the sample photos online...the Optio 440 has improved over the
color of the 330, but the overall image quality still doesn't look up to
the quality of the FA 35/2 AL attached to a Pentax SLR (to me, anyway).
Therefor, I'll stick with my ZX-5n for now (or spend your hypothetical
