FWIW, film has all but died in SA. I haven't seen anyone using a film camera
for yonks. There are only a handful of processing labs still in business.
Various film bodies, including ZX/MX models, are available "as new" for as
little as R100 (USD 9). The lenses are typically sold separately now.
Basically, the laws of supply & demand did them in.
They couldn't make it work well enough at a low enough cost to sell it
and make a profit. Regular DSLRs, compact digital point & shoots &
camera phones got too good & too affordable too quickly for them to
compete in the marketplace.

It's been invented, works perfectly with all cameras, has terabyte storage
capacity at near light speed, with real-time Lightroom integration, and can be
sold at retail for less that USD 1. It's in a warehouse somewhere in the
mid-west, on the same shelf as the internal combustion engine that ru
I've still got an MZ-S, a PZ-1p, and two MXes (one that I bought
in 1976, and a black one I picked up ten years or so ago just in
case, as it was getting hard to find places that worked on a MX).
Those are the bodies that I believe to be in working condition.

I still have my MZ-3, but haven't used it in years. Sitting in a drawer
alongside my other film bodies; LX, MX, SuperA, ME Super, et al.
The most recent I've had a film in would be my MX, a few years back.

I have a zx-7 with some velvia 100 in it. It has sat for a few months
since it ran out of batteries. Thanks for reminding me to buy some and
finish this roll out. Lately I've decided that shooting 35mm film
doesn't make much sense when it doesn't cost a whole lot more to shoot
medium format.

Still using an MZ-S, mainly now for family photos as my wife likes to have

I'm a bit over spending many hours post on them. I have a range of older lens

I've only had the opportunity to use a MZ-S one time.
Awesome body.
I use an Mz-S a fair amount. Last summer I used an *ist film body quite
a bit and really loved it, but the shutter button stopped working back
in November. So now it is the Mz-S, LX or Pz-1p for 35mm, and the 6x7
for MF.

Mine is a ZX-30. I got it about 6 years ago -- it came attached to a lens I
was buying.

When I shoot 35mm film, it's either with a Nikon F, a Leicaflex SL, a Leica M
of one sort or another, or a Robot II.
Actually, most of the film I've shot in the past year has been Polaroid. :-)

Sadly no, my ZX5n sits forlorn in bubble wrap, packed away, if I shoot
film it's medium format B&W in a Kodak Medalist II, just because I'm a
curmudgeon. Someday I'll actually have do something with those gigantic
negs. I do have an LX loaded with some old Konica color print film and
an MX with
ZX-7...in a bag with my MZ-S. Can't remember the last time I used it.
Probably still has film in it.
