ok, LR gurus, here's a question for you:
In the Camera Calibration panel of LR3... I can choose either "Adobe
Standard" or "Embedded" when processing an image. It appears that
Adobe Std is the default.
My k-5 arrived set to the "bright" custom image tone (pg 222 when I
RTFM) by default.
Does it

If you build a preset, as Steve suggested, you can tell LR to apply that
preset as it imports your images. Then they will need little or no
tweaking. Take a look at this video by David Ziser.

Hi Christine -
Your suspicion is correct, at least for Nikon. Where you see Adobe
Std. listed. I also see Nikon Standard, landscape, vivid, portrait
etc. It's camera specific.

An update, for those interested...
I posted my question on the Pentax Facebook page the other day
(http://on.fb.me/pqqoiu), and today got this reply, from Pentax:
"Yes, the Custom Image or Image Finishing Tone information in the .DNG
file can be read in the PENTAX Digital Camera Utility Software
They've submitted the request to Adobe. The ball is in their court
now to action the request or not.

I think the phrasing is curious...
"The ability to have this information available to other applications"
sounds to me like Pentax needs to make the info available. The info
is in the dng already, but maybe not in a way that's in compliance
with Adobe's protocol?
