Externally, from a user-interface perspective, the MX is *much* smaller than the K1000 and has a self-timer and depth-of-field preview (push the self-timer lever in towards the lens mount). Through the viewfinder, the MX displays the selected shutter speed and aperture and has a series of 5 LEDs

New to the pentax world so forgive me if this is an obvious answer but What are the main differences between the MX and my K-1000. From a user-interface perspective, they look almost identical -except for what I assume to be a self timer on the front... Mike Y. >- Original Message
