Wait until you can put both cameras side by side and compare their
viewfinders.

The buffer is SMALLER??? That doesn't seem possible. This camera
should be basically the S version of the new Pentax. A smaller
buffer doesn't bode well for the 10. We need a much bigger buffer
than that of the S in the 10. Just as big won't cut it.

We've known for a while that the K100D has both the smaller buffer and
the mirror prism of the DL/DL2. It is not a replacement for the DS2,
it is the bottom end camera. It does, however,
Can wait for K1000D :)

IMO the AF system of *ist IS more advanced than Z1/MZ-S. The problem
with the D (I'm talking of what I have in my hands, dunno for the
DS/DL...) is that the motor is weak as hell. Why do I think it is the
camera motor? Simple:
Take nice example: my F70-210 (yes the one;). I noticed it focussed
I just got a couple photos published (nothing special, just snapshots
of twins from the annual Twins Days Festival that I attend each year
with my brother) and find that I'm suddenly halfway there to having

I'm trying to make a plan that is

So is there a chance in hell that a DS is worth $300 used? I

A word of caution: the K100D is something of a sidegrade from the DS, at least
on paper. The big plus being anti-shake, of course.

have autofocus that WORKS because in most

Yeah, I've got my fingers crossed in that regard. Won't sell off
the old one until I am holding the new one

Hopefully the local store here (National Camera Exchange),

Does it have an upgraded AF system? That IS a plus.

Upgraded AF seems to be in the eye of the beholder. The *ist-D/Ds/etc.
was supposed to have an upgraded AF system but to hear others talk about
it the PZ-1p and MZ-S had faster AF lock in spite of having fewer
sensors. I haven't got either of those cameras to compare mine to, but

Hehe, I don't think I'd ever trust a machine to make that
determination, no matter how smart it supposedly is.
I guess
