Man, that's getting warm... I don't see many mercury thermometers. I
have one made for darkroom use but only use it to validate / calibrate
new thermometers for developing, so it gets very little use.

We central Californians suffered through an equivalent temp. beating

Interesting to see a mercury thermometer.
We had 28 on Wednesday which was very pleasant. The reports are talking about
a massive El Niño this year so the east of NZ is in for a bit of a scorcher.
Don't think we'll get anything near that though, but to be honest I wouldn't
mind a day or two
Yes, I took it down. Sorry, I was a bit premature. But I went with the
consensus here. The foreground bokeh was a mistake.

Thanks Frank. Good feedback I must conclude that foreground bokeh doesn't
work for most, at least not in this type of composition.

That's a very appealing shot, Frank. I see what you mean about the rendering;
things are a bit noisy or posterized around the eyes (where the shadows would
have been the deepest). I'm not smart enough to tell you what to do about it,
though.

Love the shot. You could easily brighten her face with a Curves
adjustment. Just push the center of the curve to brighten only the
midrange.
