I've heard some of the third party adapters cause a problem removing
them from the camera. What's been the experience of M42 users on the
list? What appears to be the cause of the problem on these?

I have a Roxsen m42-K.
Works, allows infinity focus but you need a tool they provide to put
it on or off the camera. I hear the OEM pentax one can be put on and
off by finger pressure.
Get the official Pentax one if you can find it.

I think the problem lies with the little springy tab that is supposed
to prevent the adapter from moving when you unscrew the lens.
Removing the spring should might be a solution, I've not tried it yet
though.

I woudn't touch any third-party M42 adaptors with a bargepole after
breaking two P50 with a Hama ring.
