I took my new-to-me MX ZX-M both out
last night while Steven was giving a
holiday concert in his HS band.
The brightness wasn't much different.
I think that's compensated for by the compression
done on the ZX-M size.
The field of view in the finder was the most noticable difference. There's so

Same body, switched back and forth to verify
what I saw in the finder.
The Takumar version while not bad, whatever

The A-3000 I was familiar with, having used one for several years. A nice, solid

The basic mod is pretty simple -- changing M to A.
And you don't have to modify anyting.
1) set the lens to the minimum aperture. f22, etc.
2) short the A pin to the body or lens. Use a piece of foil or 32 awg wire.
Without the lens information pins you'll not get matrix metering
Since in the 60s - 80s so many Nikons were sold,
I'm seeing shelves fill up with unwanted / undesirable
F, F3, 8008, etc. Few Canon or Pentax used bodies.
The Pentax are still being grabbed up by students.
But the Nikon outfits cost more. So they sit and gather dust.

Also, the 5Mp ratio is working out well.
And, the 4/3 ratio requires less cropping than the 6MP ratio

1. Move the lens OFF the A position.
Otherwise you risk having the A pin fly away.
