12 inches long and weighs 5 pounds?
That thing is an all-metal construction and built like the proverbial
battleship.
Having said this, I have a series of concert shots taken with a Zeiss
(Jena) 2.8/180 mm Sonnar adapted to a Fujica 605N. Nice and crisp
pictures with a beautiful bokeh.

It just doesn't look right.
It's not a big leap to think that software can be written to emulate it.
Just like software can turn a mono recording into some kind of
left/right pingpong. May appeal to someone who doesn't know the real
thing but will never convince the serious list
very sensitive to IR. Without the IR blocking filter
the sensor would be overexposed by IR light most of the time. That's why
they're built in.

sheet film.
Get a used Jobo ATL2. It does 4x5 and prints up to 40x50 cm. I had one
and its a great machine.

worth ten times as much nowadays.
I still have a CPE2 with lift in the basement lab that I'll most
certainly never use again. I'm just keeping it as an investment. It's
doing better than Apple shares. ;-)

amp via a Thunderbolt adaptor, a Terratec Phase 26 audio
interface, a TC electronic audio level meter and several external USB
discs as well as a NAS and no probs with it. What exactly is the trouble?

Mine had a Schneider Xenar lens (4 elements, Tessar type) as opposed to
the 6 element Xenon in yours which is every bit as good as a Planar from
the same era.
