Hi,
I think there is some confusion about which PostgreSQL is included in RHEL3.
I just checked and the following packages are in RHN channel Red Hat
Enterprise Linux ES (v. 3 for x86):
postgresql-odbc-7.3-3 PostgreSQL ODBC driver.
rh-postgresql-7.3.4-8 PostgreSQL client programs

Hi,
I've used this command to dump just the table concerned, and I get a
zero length file!?! No errors or anything, just a silent exit.
pg_dump -U xx-S xx -F t -a -t tablename mydatabase > ~/backup/mytable
Any ideas? I'm thinking the zero-sized file could be what was causing
the read()s to f

Hi,
I am running PostgreSQL 7.3.2 on Mandrake 9.1. When I attempted to install
the PL/PGSQL language for the first time, I got the following error:

I get the same results.

Hi,
I was working with pg7.1 on RedHat 7.1. But, unfortunately, while updating
RedHat9 I forgot to pg_dump my data files written with pg7.1.
pg7.1 doesnt seem to compile on redhat 9.
so i installed pg7.3.4 on RedHat 9, copied my earlier files into the new
data directory under pgsql and tried to o
I just went through this same thing today. You will also need to go
into your postgresql.conf file and set tcpip_socket=true and yes spaces
matter (tcpip_socket = true will not work).

Hello, my company is starting to propose postgresql-based solutions to
our clients. Our recommended operating system is SuSE Linux. Which disk
architecture should we recommend for postgresql servers? I was thinking
about RAID10.
Also, what Linux filesystem should we use? I was thinking about XFS.

I haven't "regressed" 7.4RC2 on Solaris, though I did do RC1, without
any problems. Let's see...

Hello everybody,
We plan to install on a same Solaris server an Oracle8i and a PostgreSQL
7.3.4 database.
During our impact tests, we encountered a situation where no more semaphore
was available for Oracle server (while we where bulk loading on postgreSQL

There is no info documentation, so you don't need this option.

When i try to configure postgres before compilation returned errors:
[EMAIL PROTECTED] postgresql-7.3.4]$ ./configure --infodir=/usr/share/info
configure: error: unrecognized option: --infodir=/usr/share/info
Try `./configure --help' for more information.
The infodir option is present in ./config
