I fixed these internal functions not only once so for me this was a clear
scenario. But your idea sounds good. What about moving
magic_quotes_runtime=0 to run-tests.php. Then we can easily change it
to 1 and see which tests fail. But this is only one ini setting...

Do not make a mistake here. magic_quotes_runtime is
used for the file functions used in the tests. Should have

We add the version notes in places except function
definitions as that info is automatically created
for every function, above the proto.
And, instead of CVS you may want to write what
version of PHP, such as 4.3.0, unless of course
you don't know yet :) Typically one of the lead
php-dev people

I did more work and testing with fastcgi and apache 2, and have php 4.3
running under apache 2. Since it's out of process, no multithread
issues which are one of the major issues. I didn't write docs, but
there are some in sapi/cgi/README.fastcgi
