I have also had GREAT experiences with the Maine Photographic Workshops in
Rockport, Maine. There are several alternative processes workshops,
including Platinum-Palladium by Arkady Luvov.

There have been, and may still are so called unmasked films.
The orange mask in a color film compensates for the unwanted sensitivity
for blue light (silver halides are yellow to see so they absorb bleu
light)in the green and the red sensitive layers of the color film.
