Hola and Hallo,
After about a year's absence from the list I am now back from Ibiza
and live again in Germany.
So far my only pinhole work was done with a Toyo Field 4x5 and
(what a pain in the bones) a Toyo Field 8x10.
Next is testing a smaller format for convenience's sake ;-) - there

What a revelation :-)

Superb job, especially your self-portrait.
Your technical stats give me something to work on.

I saw the first digital 'giclee' prints on fine paper.

Hi,
Just asking: Thanks for this great selection of new images put on

But I'm still hoping to see a couple of flashpics coming - after that

Harry,
I always feel kind of dumb when I ask for technical stats in the
presence of a good photograph
But I don't have much experience yet with people photography &
pinholing:
Would like to know how much light you needed for that image and how
long the exposure was.

Levi Saved My Day ;-)
Math or not math - that is NOT the question. Levi brings it to
a point:

And bring us joy with myriads of wonderful and inspring pinhole
photographs...
So, let's

Never tried flash + pinhole yet, but would like to use my lighting
equipment for that purpose too. Just never asked so far, so your
question comes in handy.

Guy,
Enjoyed your charming lines of poetry:

> Not fit for the light hearted...
Didn't know we had a POET LAUREATE amongst us.
Keep on pinholing and writing verses :-)

H,
Just read about 'trouble' with Agfa products
Though I don't use much of Agfa's products - I have used and
occasionally continue to do so - both films and paper from that
company. Never have had any probs with their stuff except once
when AGFAPAN 25 showed nasty peppergrain in a couple

Just looked at your new image and all I can say is this:
That's why we keep on pinholing, right [smile].
Just curious: Is it a black/white pic blue-toned or how did you
achieve that hue?

Jeff,
That flare you discribe adds a great deal of charm to your pics.
I just love it - although it's "officially" a no-no taking
pictures into the sun. I do it anyway too, if I feel the results add
to the intended effect.
Just curious: how long was the exposure?

Hi Benno & Guillermo,
I put your suggestions concerning reciprocity failure to the test
with quite satisfactory results. The chart below was a pretty good
guide indeed.

Thank you all for responding to my question regarding
reciprocity law failure on ILFORD HP5 Plus sheet film.
Along with "a lot of patience" - I will go ahead to check things out.

Hi,
Does anyone use ILFORD HP5 Plus sheet film for pinhole photography?
If yes, I need advice.
The manufacturer has supplied my with a reciprocity failure chart
that end with 35 seconds metered time, transforming into 200 seconds
actual exposure time. On my last shooting meter reading was 2 minut
Thank you Mike for visiting my little gallery.

Well, let's say this: It it worth it's price!
It may seem unnecessarily sturdy holding a 4x5, but I also use it
giving vabration free suppo
ity of the hole,
the negative size and the overall precision of your equipment.
Still, sharpness should be considered more as an aesthetic than
a technical question.
