If I have bootsplash [1] installed and use geninitrd [2] to generate
initramfs for recent kernel [3], the splash initializes fine but I end
up with a kernel panic (unable to mount initrd, tried: romfs).
Why does it think it's romfs? Removing bootsplash (or just unpacking
and repacking which drops

I'll answer myself. Yes, we may have third builder. The very old one in
old jajcus workplace. However I can't check if its there. Machine is up
