Hi I'm using Kubuntu but just in case it helps, on Kubuntu it's done by:
KDE-->System Settings-->Window Behavior-->Navigation-->Traverse windows on
all desktops

You mean like Apple's Expose? It can be gone if you got Beryl installed in
your workstation, but one needs to have a decent video card with
acceleration enabled, XGL or AIGLX as well. I got it working in my home PC.
Its kinda slow on resizing windows, but very engaging :D If you got Beryl
running
I meant when I press alt+tab, only the windows in the current
workspace are shown. How can I tweak it so that it shows all the
windows? Is it possible?

C-M-arrow_keys -> move between workspaces
C-M-Shift-arrow_keys on a selected window -> move that window to a
different workspace
