Dunno about you but I just got some snailmail from comcast last week saying rental rates were going up to 7$/month. I'm also thinking about buying tho maybe I can go cheaper since I don't need voip... Also dyndns works fine without paying. I use their free service and have for almost a decade.

I have a rented from Comcast Arris TM722 ?G modem. It has no usb port, one phone port, one ethernet port, and of course a cable connection. I've been googling trying to find a source to buy the same modem from so I can return the rental. I figure I'll be with Comcast for a year at least.
