I seem to recall in the old dark Windows days, of copying of the files from
the Win98 CD to a folder on a freshly formatted disk. I would then use a
boot floppy to get access to the drive and start the install from within
that folder. This may work better because the install configuration is

This link should hopefully answer your question:

Hi:
I often notice that Linux packages are labeled (and maybe compiled as)
i386, i586 or i686.
They are all x86 ELF format binaries but is there any difference between
these 3 code names?
I cannot quite tell if there is any difference but it is often a curiosity
of mine.
Thanks

With some amount of pain, you could use any old modem and go to a third
party VOIP provider, (I use vitelity.net), and a linux based pbx, (I use
freepbx). Freepbx will run on a very modest pc, although it costs me about
$4/mo for electricity for it. For a $99 you can get a plug pc, said to be

Anyone have an idea when say the Arris TM722G will be available
to consumers to buy? I've looked at docsis 3.0 modems without
telephony and I've noticed a few docsis 2.0 modems on ebay
with telephony, but no docsis 3.0 modems with telephony.
Much over $60, one is talking longer than a year to sa

To the bitter regret of Windows monomaniacs everywhere, we
will NOT be cancelling the Linux Clinic on Sunday December 19th
at 1pm at Free Geek, 1731 Southeast 10th Avenue in Portland.
Instead, we will be cancelling software deficits, error messages,

All,
I'm looking for photo printer recommendations for Ubuntu. What have

thanks,

I ordered a TuxScreen a few years ago, as a little household Linux
terminal and suchlike. Never played with it.
I would love to have someone else try to do something interesting with it.
If a PLUGger does not lay claim to it, I will bring it to Dorkbot.

Hello all,
There will be no PLUG Advanced Topics next week.
I hope to soon have a key to the venue to eliminate one of the key problems.
My apologies to our speaker who was canceled last month and I hope this
is the end of the inconsistency.
Happy holidays,
Michael

Hi all,
I believe I have successfully set up my wireless g router. There is
no security, no wep, or whatever, as far as I can tell. I don't know
if I should do that or not.
I am trying to set up a wireless laser monochrome printer. It is the
Brother HL-2270DW. According to one review at Neweg
