The X300 keyboard I listed does not show up in the list of Thinkpad
keyboards.
I am thinking that all I may have to do is modify the following file:
/usr/share/X11/xkb/geometry/thinkpad. It has a list of keyboards in it but

For what is worth it - I'd recommend Brother's MFCxxx40*DW models such
as: B&W MFC-L2740DW or Color MFC-9340CDW. They have the same
consumables as the lower (30) models, but can scan double sided in
single pass - which is brilliant functionality to have.

I purchased a Spanish keyboard for my X300. I have installed it, and so far
not too
bad, but some of the keyboard mapping is giving me the wrong characters.

That MFC-9330 does indeed look fine. I would have to rebuild part of my
desk, but it might be worth the effort.

All the advice given makes sense if you use the printer a reasonable

year, so I did not feel the urgent need for a color laser. Presently I
have an HP scanner and printer combo. It works well and I do not have the

Russell, your oldie goldie printer does not have the spyware modern HPs
have intended to lock you in to HP branded ink. I'd keep it.

That probably means looking at third party cartridges, refilling and
