does not tell me what the issue is. Have you tried starting from
scratch? Uninstall bind, delete leftover configuration files found in
/var/named and /etc/named, reinstall, and try to start the base
configuration
I just got the test server up. It installed and started ok. I saw that a
lot of the logging is still going to /var/log/messages. You may want to
look there for what is happening with bind.

I never did find out why I could not get ntpd service to start at boot.
