I will +1 LVM as well. on top of the above, the LVM caching is pretty slick
as well.
And so far zfs is also very interesting.

I am running a 250GB SSD. It will be entirely dedicated to the server.
In reading the docs there is an option of using the entire disk for LVM
and there will be two partitions, one
