and now for something completely off topic ... other than rules for posting and such. I am just now having to learn c++ : I haven't done any C work since the middle 80's. I am being forced to move from Rational clearcase and clearquest to svn and teamtrack. TeamTrack is UGLY, don't get me started.

While Google (and others) develop the Android O/S, the carriers make all the decisions about how open the phone is. The G1 is a *T-Mobile* phone, not a Google Phone. Because Android is mostly Apache licensed, the carriers are free to modify it however they like for "their" phones, and they do

If you power the router on and hold the reset button for a while (I think 5 seconds, but you will see all the lights flash or something too), it'll reset the device to factory settings. Then you can access it with admin/admin and set it up the way you want again. Hope that helps. -Joe mike haven
