More info would be helpful. I use VirtualBox regularly on the latest
Ubuntu with no issues at all. Of course, I've taken to running it in a
window rather than integrated into the desktop. I've found that some of
the desktop window-treatments like shaky windows and other eye-candy of X
can interf

I don't know what your workflow is, but that's not what I would do. I
would be using VBoxHeadless to start the vm
