I personally like the 1-10 rating system. It lets me fine tune my Three ratings that's all. when i start getting towards the 8's & above it does the same. Though like stated above my rating of a track depends on what i ate for breakfast, what time of the day & even what underwear i'm wearing. The

If the rating scale was change from 1-5 to 1-10 it would be a lot of work for those of us that have rated most of our music on the 1-5 scale. I'm not too eager to go through and re-rate all my music. Personally I find 1-5 to be enough, sometimes I have trouble deciding if a song should be a 3 or

Slimserver internally and also TrackStat uses a rating system between 1-100, so the 1-5 limitation today is just in the user interface and CLI interface of TrackStat. If more people requests it I can quite easy change it so it supports 1-10 ratings, the main problem is probably just that everyone

I seriously doubt I would ever want to rate tracks as finely as 48, 49, 50, but I could see myself using ratings of 50, 55, 60. At the very least, a 0-9 system would be a lot more useful than 1-5. With 1-5, loading up a playlist of 4+ gives me only a tiny portion of my collection (maybe 5%), w

I've had some success with ClarkConnect. I had to install ActivePerl, perl-XML-parser and perl-Archive. I also had to dink around with Samba somewhat. It seems to meet most of my needs. I want to warn others, however, that Norton Internet Security is the spawn of the devil. Thanks again for s

A few thoughts: I like the idea of a ratings tag in the actual file itself. That way, it moves with the file. But rating files from the slimserver interface becomes a problem, then. You don't ever want slimserver to write tags. But you could get slimserver to write to the ratings field in the
