This is what 6.5 introduced, as opposed to 6.3. I'm not using
MusicInfoSCR, and I also get this behavior. Maybe someone should fill
in a bug?

After much archaeology on the forum archives, I have manged to get
MusicIP working with SS/SB. (Thanks for detailed explanations by
Siduhe and others in several threads). I'm finding MIP's playlists
fascinating!
But I'd be grateful for some advice about adding new music. I've set
SS to allow

What next? Do I need to make SS do a rescan? Or will it just update

Wow! Great! But that sounds suspiciously easy. We are talking about

actually *seen* this happen? ;-)

Hi Diana,
I've seen it happen and it works fine for me ! The only issue I have
sometimes had is if I import something into the MM database, but
Slimserver realises the database has changed and starts rescanning
before the MM validation process has finished.
If that happens, I get the new

Yeah, I actually did that last night and I still use a music folder.
I ripped a CD,
Siduhe Thanks for yet another really helpful bit of advice (I got a
lot of help from your posts to this forum about MM/MIP). I'll
certainly make the change you suggest to the settings; but its good to
know that a 'clear and rescan' is still there as a failsafe.

I don't even have the command line parameter set up any more.
I recently set MIP up as a headless service (you may need to have a
premium key from MIP to do this) and then set Slimsever to start up
automatically as well. There's not been a single problem about the
order of starting these two
Hi,
There's a LCD Smartie plugin available which retrieves player
displaynow info from Slim Server and can show this info on an external
LCD display via LCD Smartie. Great for those of you using SofSqueeze
and whish they had a real Squeezebox. Now with an USB LCD display and a

I did think of trying this solution, and I'm glad to hear it works and
is straightforward to do. For the time being, I'm going to use the MIP
GUI, to get a better idea of what the software does.
I haven't yet worked out whether it's possible to set up a mix with the
GUI and then pass it to

I've installed AlienBBC using the v1.06 EXE installer package. When I
run the mplayer test batch file mplayer crashes just after the
following line appears in the Command window:

At this point the Dr Watson dialog pops up saying
Which version of Windows are you using? Could you post a copy of the
trace output when mplayer runs.

Hi Neil,
It's running on W2000 (SP4). Do you mean the Dr Watson log of the
error? If so, the full thing is too long for the message, but the first
half is below. Tell me if you need the other half

Hi there
I'm after a bit of help loading up a new server which is running Debian

Hi,
Is it possible to create plugins that run independently on the local

In this directory there should be mplayer.exe. Run mplayer without any

Snarlydwarf I've been experimenting with this, and you're right on
several counts.
If I set SS to use MusicMagic and also set a music folder, the scan
takes 40 minutes; if I don't have a music folder set in SS, it takes
17 minutes.
If I set only 'use MM', the song count is 3364. If I also

No. The box can't execute anything without the server. And I doubt you'll
ever be allowed to install anything on Squeezenetwork. What would you like

Hi bpa,
Mplayer runs fine without any parameters - it outputs a list of basic

exactly the same as described above, i.e. puts up a Dr Watson Error

Michael,
So this begs the question:
Is this worthy of a bug submittal. Particularly since SlimServer seems to be
counting these WMAs toward the artist count, but just not able to display the
exact tag. I know on the wiki they are pretty adamant about the use of
ID3v2.3, but since WMAs fall
For what it's worth, I set both the music folder and use MIP because I
have found that MIP will not pick up filenames with accented
characters, but SS will. I believe that this issue has been fixed with
the windows version of MIP, but I am using the linux version.
I've also noticed that strange
