The plugin posted on Felix's website should work fine.
Perhaps some debugging would be in order.
Try running slimserver from the command line. This will give you any
errors that might stop this plugin from functioning normally.
There are several postings on how to do this depending on your OS.
I have the same problem as whdean. Certain plugins show in the SS
settings, but not in the player settings. I am having that problem now
with the auto dim dispaly feature.

No, it only shows up in server settings, that's what so weird. When I go
to player settings, it only shows the auto brightness display setting.

I haven't tried this plugin yet, although its on my to-do list, so I'm
curious as to what's going on. Did you look under Player Settings (in
the web interface) for the auto-dim configuration? Since people might
have more than one SB with different auto-dim requirements.

Did you make sure to Stop Slimserver, and then Start it again?
In my limited experience, it seems to be the only way to reliably make
sure a plugin gets loaded up properly.

It is called auto dim feature and you can find it in the plugins area.
when you get there, you need to search thru the list of plugins and
should see it there.

I can't even find the plugin. Is it called "Auto Dimming"?

I have downloaded the auto dimming plugin and it shows up in my plugin
list, but it does not seem to work. There is no setting for the plugin
other than manual or auto. It does not show up on the sb3, but does on
the server. What's up with that?

Erland,
Thank you for the pointer to ActivePerl and the help so far. I've
installed PERL and confirmed all the settings to be correct, but it is
still not updating itunes. Do I run the PERL command from the windows
Run command?
I tried to open PERL and it opened a browser but nothing appeared.
