I hadn't tried it with iTunes closed! iTunes is 'always running' on my setup. In the meantime, I have uninstalled and reinstalled iTunes and my first attempt to succesfully update has worked. I'll experiment with a closed iTunes too and let you know. Jon PS. Many thanks for your prompt help.

Jon, It is working fine for me on the same version combination. Have you looked at the --d_plugins log file for errors? Usually when people have issues after a new version of iTunes, it is because iTunes has not installed the COM registry data correctly and it's fixed after reinstalling iTunes. You
