Probably you have to translate No Album to your localised language,
e.g. Kein Album for German.
Another source of this problem could be the way Singles are
identified. In the template singles.cb.xml and deepsingles.cb.xml
there is a condition defining singles by ... (albums.compilation is
null
There does appear to be a problem with slimserver No Album. I started a
thread in the beta forum a few days ago about No Album appearing within
Various Artists. I does appear that slimserver now threats songs that have
an artist but not an album tag as being part of a compilation.
I wasn't
Is it SlimServer startup that takes longer time ?
Yes - 5 minutes each time I startup. Also if I do a full rescan or look for
new and changed music.
Is it the Refresh custom scan data at startup option in the Custom
Scan section in Server Settings/Plugins you disabled ?
Yes.

This used to work fine, but now it has stopped, and there seems to be a
10-15 second delay between tracks as it tries to fnd the iTunes track

The delay is almost certainly caused by the plugin being unable to find
iTunes itself - not the track!
Have you recently upgraded either iTunes or SlimServer?
I've noticed that the SlimServer installer resets the 'run at login'
setting back to 'run on startup' which is not what's required for
Thanks James, SS had reset itself to run on Startup. I'll switch it back
to see if that helps.
Problem is, my TrackStat database is now out of synch with my iTunes
database, I've rated loads of tracks which haven't been rated in
iTunes. I wonder how best to get it back in synch ...

So this new scanning behaviour is most likely a bug and the reason for

How do things show up in the web interface ?
The albums show up properly in the web interface ... and under the
server tab of the Moose library tree as well (but they don't show up
properly under the library tab of the Moose library tree).

I found another album containing multiple artist tags, and this one will
probably provide the best insight into what might be going on. The
album is by a single artist (Chris Botti), but several of the tracks

artist tags varies
Interesting.. Thanks for that.. I'll see if I can replicate the problem
and work a fix out.

Does Moose look at the ALBUMARTIST (BAND in MP3tag) tag? I am not a
tagging expert, but I think this is also called the TPE2 tag. That
might be an easy way to tackle the problem ... I'm pretty certain this
is how SlimServer does it ... uses the ALBUMARTIST tag if it exists,
reverts to the

Thanks Erland,
That does explain it - and yes I can use MusicIP to import all my stats
in order to refresh the SS library ones.

I think there are two issues:
1. Songs with no album are still put on a No Album album, but are now also be
considered part of a compilation.
This may depend on the folders that the songs are physically stored in?
I'm not so bothered about this change in functionality, as a No Album entry

Hi Greg,
Thanks I installed Software Squeeze in both my notebook and
PC..working great! didn't realize that Software Squeeze doesn't require
that I have my Squeezebox on to listen
Sirius, etc. Thanks again.
