That's a limitation of transcoded file types, AFAIK. AAC can't be played
by the SB natively (except for Touch and maybe Radio) so it's being
transcoded to flac or wav on the server.

Got Softsqueeze installed again. All works except, just as with
previous versions, synch. The first song will synch perfectly with
Squeezebox, but thereafter Softsqueeze will lag behind about 1/2 second.
I'm hard wired throughout, with CAT 6 and gigabit connectivity.

I've posted V1.1 now. This now has a working "Now & Next" for BBC Live
National WMA stations R1, R2, R3, R4FM (not R4LW), 5Live, 6Music, BBC7
and World Service.
When you change the "Now & Next" setting you have to reboot SBS for the
change to take effect as I was worried there might be a clash wi
Here's something interesting. I've noticed that I can't use the
"scrubber" to go back and forth with AAC tracks, only with MP3s. Is this
a documented issue? Is it just my setup that's weird? I LOVE the app,
though. It's working great with my new sheevaplug powered setup!

There are two ways to restore trackstat data... through the Trackstat

you tried it the first time, maybe try the other way. I like going
through custom scan because it gives you an indicator as long as it is

ticked the option.
I've un-ticked it for now.

After a windows crash sueezecenter refused to start and I had to
reinstall it (7.3.4). I completely uninstalled it first and deleted then
manually all remaining folders and registry entries. It then worked, but

I didn't explicitly mention the "now & next" because the BBC site which
provide the "Now & Next" info was offline for the past few days and I
wasn't sure if it had been retired.
However it came back today and it has shown up a bug so I need to post
a v1.01 later today.

The streams are fixed bandwidth - the only option would be to listen to
the non uk streams which are lower bandwidth. The plugin is not setup
for this at present though. If this is live radio then I suspect some
of the streams from the BBC app would be the international ones - you
may want to tr
Thankyou for the update.
I don't get any Now/Next info while listening to WMA streams.

Thanks, Gary, I really appreciate the response. I'll see if I can't
find SqueezeSoft again. It worked perfectly! So SqueezePlay does not
work with Windows 7?

I would also be interested in throttling the bitrate for iPlayer, not
for the same reason though. I live a long way from the nearest exchange
and have very limited bandwidth, circa 0.6Mbit, and suffer from the
occasional stuttering, lowering the bit rate may solve this. I've

I've worked-out how to turn my various players off (!!), but am still
concerned that my usage is such that I could hit my ISP's fair-usage
limit. Is there a way within BBCiPlayer or SBS to throttle-back the
bitrate such that this only affects internet radio streams?

I'm glad it works for you. Out of interest, are you using LIRC files or
protocol-commands and which version of the firmware are you using?

Is the latest Lyrics Display Plugin supported on SC 7.4.2? I just
installed it and it does not appear to be working. I end up with a

Brilliant piece of work. This version is very intuitive to setup. It
took me 5 minutes to setup and it worked for all commands the first time
the controller started again.
..and a happy xmas to you too.

Both RTE and PHC need PlayReal installed.
You should uninstall AlienBBC before installing PlayReal. The mplayer
installation should not need to be changed.
On Windows PlayReal and PlayWMA will download mplayer if required but
on Linux ans OSX you still need to install mplayer separately.

Same here. As I'm not listening to the source via the server's speakers
at the same time as I'm listening through my SB3 the delay doesn't
matter.
