Honestly - why does there even need to be? Why can't they just make it
simple and have a stream to tune to - just like other radio.

Thank you everyone for the help - it was clear in the logs there was a
connection issue - this AM I turned off my virus / firewall and it is
now working - so I know where the problem is and off to fix it - thank
you again for your help.

That makes sense, but unfortunately not even restarting (either just the
server processes, or the whole system) helps.

MC2Slim seems to be an excellent fit for me. I just got a Squeezebox
receiver without controller and was able to get it up and running using
the Perl method. It works fine from the web interface of Squeezecenter
running on my Netgear ReadyNAS Duo. Fine and dandy.

Well, I rebooted the system to give you a clean log. And now it won play
music at all. Trying to look at the plugin settings gives me the
404 Not Found:
plugins/Extensions/settings/plugins/Spotify/settings/basic.html
again.

Indeed, installing the plugin moved the port (for the web interface) to
9001, removing the plugin (and rebooting) did not move it back.
So, after removing the plugin, and rebooting, everything
(except the plugin) works again.
lsof -i doesn't show any process using port 9000.

that the Radio's reboot problem won't occur when both are on, with BBC
iPlayer set to AAC, because the Boom forces SBS to convert the stream
to FLAC?

Just a quick Thank you. Been with iPeng since the free browser
version and is happy to see it evolve to get as good as I could
possibly have imagined.
With iOS 4 and the most recent versions of iPeng, all of my i-devices
connect quickly to the server and everything works really
