Sounds like WMA native support has been disabled in FileTypes.
Check the settings for Windows Media under WebUI
Settings/Advanced/Filetypes - what are the current settings ?

SettingsManager causes a CPU usage of 100% when used with
SqueezeboxServer 7.5.3.
I did like the functionality of SettingsManager, but had to uninstall
the ppugin because of the high CPU usage.

This is weird. Every stream seems to work on the Boom in my bedroom
apart from R4 FM! (I checked that R2 and R3 HD work, so one would
think that it's not an internal networking problem).

Not directly.
Would have to be a part of the menu customization.
Putting it in favorites won't work, can only move it up in the menu
hierarchy.
