Well it confirms the issue is not the AAC stream created by the DASH as
HLS just appends the data together.
I'll have to google to see if there are any reports on Windows 10 that
could explain problem.

I run LMS 7.8.0 on a WHS V1 machine, 2GB RAM, 1.6GHz Atom processor.
Squeezebox Duet playing 320kbps iPlayer Dash live streams, and I don't
have any rebuffering problems. Transcoding to FLAC takes variable
amounts of cpu up to 10%. So the rebuffering is not caused exclusively
by having a slow wind
Sounds like it might be time to run an LMS in a debian VM or something..

Interesting - it does point the finger at the Windows implementation and
probably socketwrapper or faad.
Another user developing the Qubuz plugin had weird problems with
socketwrapper - I wonder if there is some commonality.

I have installed 7.9 with standard FAAD on my windows laptop and no
problem playing a live BBC DASH 48kbpos stream on a SB receiver.

AFAICT the 48kbps issues is related to transcoding and since Touch now

Since you get no error message in the log from the BBCiPlayer plugin -
the problem is probably due to some other interaction with system setup

Can you characterise the rebuffering as it is generally not truly
"random" such as :
Is it better/worse/no different than v1.4.x ?* seems worse than 1.4.x on
Radio 4 and about the same on Radio 6*
Single player or synced players ? *un- synced*
You are definitely playing DASH format ? *iplayer set
