If anyone finds the sound of squeezelite on Windows to be too sibilant
and aggressive I have uploaded portaudio.dllopt1 which takes the edge
off.
It uses a few optimisation tricks in the build settings which I found
when developing my own MQn player, am happy to tell Triode what they
were. This

Make youtube-instant links in catalog optional
Support drag of album or track (or selected tracks in db grid) outside
of muso (drags the filespecs) - eg. into foobar or iTunes playlist.
PDF booklet links for album in remote control app (album view).
Increase robustness

I really think people need to start to think about software the same way
as other purchases. It's not like most people ask to taste the food on a
restaurant before they buy a 7 EUR meal, if they are hungry

Possible yes, how would tracks be written to a file? You mean the full
paths written to a text file as a list?
yes, the full paths in double quotes preferably, the file would be
cleared down when play on Muso was pressed otherwise queued tracks would
be appended to the file.
Hi Jezbo,
I am developing a minimalist wav player and trying to get the absolute
best sound, this means that the player has to be disconnected from the
front end as all it does is render wav files.
I was hoping I could use Muso as a front end, but for that I would need
something like the

No not for windows at present and its only the bitstream which is read
direct - all the control functions are via LMS. (Actually only reads
direct if playing from the start of the file, not synced and no

ok, thanks for the reply

Only reason for this is the wonders of windows meaning the common code
used for other platforms doesn't work on windows so this feature is
disabled. I doubt there is any significant benefit on windows due to
the likely higher cpu power of windows machines; but may return to

There's one optimisation for playback of local files which may help low
power linux servers (squeezelite reads the file direct rather than
through LMS). You can install the plugin and disable the automatic
running of the included squeezelite to try his is you already have

So it looks like when ASIO output is used the latency becomes that set
by the card, not that asked for. I've made it work with my RME card and
latency set with the squeezelite -a option is always ignored, however
squeezelite reports the latency which reflects the buffer size

I've updated the windows build at:

can you? If this works I will include in local player. Note it changes
the name of the portaudio.dll

Triode,
have noticed that in windows setting the stream and output buffer only
works when the device is set via the output device debugging dropdown ie
not using -o device1
also does the period_count parameter work in windows using the -a option
eg -a 40:5 ? I can change the latency using -a
Triode, Can I be cheeky and ask if there are any plans to enable
Squeezelite (Windows) to output to Asio ?
Cheers

Triode, just like to say that playing squeezelite with KS device output
produces exceptional SQ.
Thanks again.

You may have to install 1.4.24 to help me get to the bottom of this
since I cannot reproduce it. 1.4.24 MAY fix it, but if not I need you to
try the following:
Confirm whether this only occurs for the letter L, or all letters. Does
it also occur if browsing Albums by Album
