Yeah after a few months of not having Spotty working on my old Mac Pro,
I was ready to give up and wipe the machine.
Just to like check, grabbed the latest build and tested it one last
time... And believe it or not it just started working perfectly after
2.1.13! :D
Everything's in perfect shape

Okay, I believe you're right - I must have done something to the system
at some point which made it stop working.
Just tried installing LMS and Spotty clean on a new use

Just upgraded everything; still no improvement.
Spotty is the first spotify plugin I've used on this OSX server; and it
used to work up until about 4 versions ago...
This is the only error that shows up in my logs, it's probably
unrelated:

Just gave that a try, at first I'd get the text "connecting" on the
squeezebox and the transport would move with no sound; with only PCM and
then only MP3 on it just immedia
Now on Spotty 1.9.8, in the file types menu there still exists options
for FLAC, Lame and PCM and each drop down has two options
(Spotty/filetype and disabled)
still fails to produce any sound, but transport continues for actual
duration of track in web interface.
Web interface claims stats are:
Sorry it's been a while, I've tested all three of those options in the
file types menu; thus far none of them get Spotty to make any sound
still;
With the -Spotty/Flac- option enabled I get the playhead advancing but
with no sound, web interface reports the content is: 705kbps CBR, Ogg

Okay, in File types the Spotty entry says:

Does that seem right?

Thankfully local library playback and other plugins are unaffected, it's
only been with the latest version of Spotty (1.9.5) / LMS (Version:
7.9.1 - 1509357021)

I apologize for how difficult this has been, I've tried a few things
including:
unchecking Spotty's helper application -> testing -> unchecking Spotty
-> rechecking Spotty -> testing -> unchecking spotty and then stopping
the server, removing spotty's folder in the
My server is on OSX El Capitan 10.11.6
I'm not sure what the additional binary is for the plugin, all I did for
the helper was enable your repo and check it. When it comes to the other
things required to get connect working in this version I had already
installed those with brew but since I wasn'

Hey so um, I'm still not getting anything in my logs that's particularly
interesting.
Even without trying to use the connect plugin on OSX after 1.9 (Server
is 7.9.1) I can't seem to get Spotty to play back music regularly.
It looks like it's happening, transport bar fills up normally; but in
the
Okay, so with the plugin unchecked now it kinda pretends to play but I
get total silence...

Hey, thanks for all the effort getting things going with Connect! It's
the one feature that I've wanted the most out of the Squeezebox platform
over the last few years (closest we can get to Chromecast emulation)
I've just upgraded on my mac though, and before enabling the connect
script for any
So I installed the test plugin to get extra data, restarted the
server... and... inexplicably
*It's working!* :D
I knew it had worked a bit in the past
The only new line in my log is

I've been getting nothing but silence with Spotty, it worked for a
little bit with 7.9.0 on OSX El Capitan but after restarting the server
that one time and now with the reinstall I get no sound.
The only thing my Log has in it since updating to the latest nightly of
7.9.1 (-which is working well
I'm very impressed with how easy it was to set up Spotty on my little
Arch X86 Toaster thing, and it's definitely a step in the right
direction as far as the platform goes.
I like that Discover Weekly and other generated playlists show up, I
don't remember that being a thing on Triode's plugin. I
Hey, what's the alternative / best way to get cdda2wav installed via
repo on ArchLinux? That's what's holding me up rn.
