Will it play *everything* in MC? ie., if I have QuickTime installed on
the PC where MC and SlimServer are installed, shouldnt it play all file
types that MC plays including apple DRM?

Hmmm, I'm not sure if I can answer all of that but...
MC2Slim doesn't stream anything, it monitors what MC is doing and makes
Slimserver do the same but the end result is that you use the MC
interface to select and play your music and Slimserver streams it to
your Squeezebox.

MusicMon,
The easiest way is just to turn the volume slider down in the MC zone
that is controlling your Squeezebox. If you don't have a volume slider
then check your MC 'Volume Options' because it's probably set to
'System Volume'.
In MC2Slim make sure that 'Use MC Volume' is unchecked under th
I need to make MC to stop playing music thru my computers speakers and
just passing the signal to Slimsrever. Currently I hear the music thru
both the computer and the slimserver.

Hello Craig,
yes, Slimserver is on Windows XP and it's MC2Slim V 1.51.
After the error meesage, the red "LED" of MC2Slim says connected, but
the TX/RX-"LED" is off and there are no Players.

Thanks for V1.5, it works well. The only problem is playing APE files.
MC shows it is playing them but not sound comes out of squeezebox! if I
use slimserver software, I can play ape files and I hear the music. Any
suggestions on how to fix this problem?

Yes it works by interrogateing MC then controlling Slimserver via the
CLI. MC does actually play the music too but I recommend sending its
output to an unused output because it's playback is a bit irregular due
to having to keep the two insync.

Kewl. A quick question, is the MC12-MC2Slim-Slimserver integration
based on passing requests to play a file with the actual digital stream
*only* going from slimserver to the SB/Transporter?

Is this with Version 1.4?
Version 1.0 used to do that because of some missing registry entries.

MC2Slim is a small program that runs alongside J River Media Center and
allows you to treat your Squeezeboxes as MC Zones and play your music
as if they were a soundcard on your PC.
The program needs to be installed on the same PC that you use for MC
but can connect to a remote Slimserver.
