SC 7.1.0 with the corresponding AlienBBC version, and the
iPlayerAddonV3.zip file.
If I navigate here:
http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/genres/factual
I see Out of Doors listed, and there is a Listen Again option. Yet
Out of Doors does not appear within the AlienBBC BBC Listen Again
Factual
It is there under BBC iPlayer Radio Factual (also under A to Z -
O and also using Search).
When you get Factual menu - there should be 191 items on 4 pages.
out of Doors is on Page 3.
If you do not get 191 items then SC web page fetches may be timing out
in which case increase
Many thanks bpa, but sadly it has made no difference. This is the full
list of what I get (see below). If it was a timeout issue I'd expect it
to finish aprt way throuhg, but I get a full A-Z listing.
Code:
Alien BBC / BBC Listen Again / Factual
That's not the output from the iPlayer Menu Addon but the old Listen
Again menu.
In fact there is a typo in V3 of the iPlayer Categories and A to Z
menus which gives an error. I have a V4 nearly ready but in the
meantime you can edit the iPlayer.opml file and remove the
'topmenu=1' from the
I don't see a BBC iPlayer radio menu entry in your main menu - it
looks like your install of Addon has not worked or you didn't reatrt
SC.

No, I too don't see the BBC iPlayer radio menu entry.
For the avoidance of doubt, I have done this. I previously installed
AlienBBC and it works fine (for live stuff). Today I have extracted the
three files from the iPlayerAddonV3.zip file and placed them into
Can you show what is in the Addons directory.

Sure (and many, many thanks for sticking with me :-) )
Code:

drwxr-xr-x 8 squeezecenter root 4096 2008-06-30 19:01 ..
This is the output in /var/log/squeezecenter/server.log after changing
the logging level for AlienBBC and resetting the menu:

Yes they are symlinked (not by me, this was a default install from the
apt repository).

Heither we're talking about different products, or there's
something seriously weird with my setup - as I don't have wiki radio
either :-(
I've opened up the firewall and will PM you with the details. Note that
I'm using fishbone skin, but the iPlayer stuff doesn't show with Classic
skin
At a guess your AlienBBC installation although marked as 2.01b1 - may
not be correct perhaps some wrong files are left.
However comparing the file listing you gave against the distribution
shows an exact match.
alienbbc.opml can be kept between menu reset perhaps there is something
wrong in it.
You're a star, and I owe you big time for this!
I'm in the process of migrating my Linux server to a Windows server. I
still want SC to run under Linux, the same as I want Apache and Postfix
to run under Linux, and as such my dedicated Linux server will be a VM
on my Windows server. To this end,
